A Bar, Boston, Tuesday

In the end, Ezra had decided to drag Dante out to a bar. Not one of the Coterie ones, but still one that he'd frequented sometimes, looking to have a good time. It wasn't as high-end as, say, something within the Purgatory complex, but it was still several steps up from something like that dive he'd found Dante performing at earlier this year.

Funnily enough, this one seemed to have an open mic night going on. Or, would have - there was a flier advertising it at the door, but they were a little early. Those proceedings had not started yet as they walked in.

"It's not a bunny party," Ezra noted, glancing back at Dante with a little smirk, "but I think it works."

"Well, you know me, I'm always up for corrupting people." And for calling it that, with a small sliver of cheer. "With pizza, if need be, even if I generally prefer using other things."

"You can't fix everything with your dick," Dante said brightly. "Though god knows you can try."

"Oh, boy, don't I know it," Ezra replied with another theatrical sigh that masked how real his regret might have been on that front.

Sex was so much easier than a lot of the other stuff lately.

"Good thing it still works on a lot."

Dante laughed softly. "Don't suppose you have some good stories for me to live vicariously through," he said.

"Well, there was this girl, recently." This time, the affectation in his sigh was one of wistfulness. "Friend of a friend that I was set up with."

Because yes, he did actually get set up for dates sometimes.

"Though that one's less of a corruption story. She had that covered already."

"She just... matched you blow for blow?" Dante suggested, grinning as he settled back for this one.

"That's a very apt way of putting it, darling, yes." Duh. "But, I should note, we started out innocently enough, with just dinner."

"Uh huh," Dante said, looking equal parts amused and interested.

"Long story short, the dinner was good," Ezra continued, leaning back in his chair. "But her taking me back home to hers was... a lot better." Duh. "Turned out she had quite the array of toys, you see. And a will to make a man bend over."

"Gotta love a girl who knows her way around a toy collection," Dante said, smirking.

"One of the best type of girls," replied Ezra, who probably had enough categories of Best Girls to fit all the girls in the world into. "I especially like the ones like this one who aren't shy about making it known that it's something they're into."

He shrugged.

"Not that there's, obviously, anything wrong with being shy, but it's such a waste of kinky energy when they don't bring it up because they think you'll judge them instead of leaping into position and telling them to go to town."

Dante laughed softly. "You won't hear any disagreement from me," he said, "Though hey, there's something to be said for taking the slow way around."

Not that he was, you know. Talking about any girl in particular.

"I think that was covered by the 'obviously'," Ezra pointed out in turn. "Anyway, these are one night stands so there's not much room for the slow way around. That's for different kinds of cases."

"I know," Dante said easily. "Just been learning this one the hard way."

Ezra shrugged lightly. "I like my shortcuts, sometimes."

And that was when their server showed up to slide two sizable and very meaty-looking pizzas in front of the pair of them.

"Thank you, darling," Ezra told the server, then turned his attention towards Dante again, and gestured at the pizzas. "I believe it was subtitled on the menu as a 'vegetarian's nightmare'."

"Aw, you do know me," Dante said, grinning brightly. "More pizza places should go with the right branding."
