It was a lazy Saturday in Currant.

As it followed a busy Friday around Boston, it felt earned. Although Ezra, of course, would've found it earned whether he'd had a busy day or not. He earned his lazy weekends just by virtue of existing, fabulously.

Right now, he was doing so while lounging on the couch in the small living room with a book propped up against his chest and his phone in his other hand, occasionally sending texts to Ava. Nothing serious. Or even important. Sometimes, he just liked staying connected.

Lock was... somewhere. With Bianca? Probably.

It was quiet.

Dante shook his head, ruffling Ezra's hair on his way to a chair not far away.

"Easy week?"

"Moderately." He shrugged. "Can't complain."

Well, he could. He just didn't feel like it.

"Good week," Dante amended at that answer.

'Cause you could always complain, Ezra.

"It was okay," Ezra replied with a renewed shrug. "And how was China?"

"Full of pandas and noodles," Dante said, slumping in his seat. "Not really my bag. And Ringo found me."

"Should she... not have?"

Ezra was going to need a little more context for this.

"She's been really fucking weird for two years," Dante said, pulling a face. "Might be getting better? A little?"

"Well..." Ezra said, trailing off for a second as he stretched out further on the couch. "Good for her, I suppose."

He didn't really know Ringo. And had found her a little odd to begin with.

Dante let out an amused huff. "Did wind up learning a ton about pandas," he said, shifting gears. "Like how people didn't figure out to just let 'em date until a couple years back."

Ezra scoffed, theatrically.

"Pandas? Dating? Do I look like a good audience for either of those things?"

Mostly, he was just looking to make a vague joking point about pandas being lesser animals who got way too much attention. (Though okay, he was kind of curious about whether China had werepandas.)

"Good point," Dante said, grinning. "Next time I'll tell the school we gotta go to fox zoos only."
