Commonwealth Circus Center, Boston, Tuesday Evening

The big room at the circus center might not have been much to look at, but it was all a-buzz with excitement on this Tuesday evening as friends and family of the center's spring class of beginner-level aerial silks gathered to see the showcase.

Several rows of chairs had been set up for the audience, and there was a table to the side where refreshments could be cheaply bought while the performers were still changing into whatever they were planning to wear for the show, and/or trying to talk each other or themselves out of stage fright jitters.

For now, the long strips of silk hung empty from the ceiling, but that would change soon.
