Currant, Maine, Tuesday
Jun. 25th, 2019 09:24 pmEzra hadn't seen Kathy since his circus school showcase last month, though that was out of a combination of laziness and Coterie responsibilities, not on purpose. Which he'd kind of figured she'd know, except when he'd called to invite her out to visit, she'd sounded... surprised to hear from him.
He'd done his best to sweep that aside, in his mind.
They were in Currant, now. Not his house, but Currant proper, for once. Sure, they'd started out at the house because it was convenient and private enough for portals, but Ezra had driven them out of the woods, and so now they were strolling along what passed for main street in this quaint little provincial village of theirs. The car had been left behind a little further back, because Currant was best taken in on foot.
But they were not alone. No, there were a fair bit of people milling about, oohing and aahing at just about everything in their field of vision, people with sweaters knotted around their necks or wearing khakis, stopping to take selfies in the most inconvenient spots possible.
Ezra gave a low whistle. "Did you know it's prime season for playing Spot the Flatlander?"
Tourists.
[ooc: NFB, and for that girl.]
