A House, Currant, Maine, Thursday
Ezra had not bailed on the plans he'd made with Kathy a while back. He had, of course, been the recipient of many an invite to various Halloween parties in Boston and its surroundings, but... Yeah. Sometimes a man just wanted a cheesy movie night with old friends, right? It didn't necessarily have to have anything to do with how he couldn't even remember when this particular combo of friends had spent any time with just the three of them present.
Right.
Anyway, the living room was all set for movie watching. The coffee table - with no books in sight anywhere, probably much to Kathy's disappointment - was all loaded up with snacks and drinks of all kinds. The amount of it all was truly ridiculous, until you took into account how no one present exactly had a normal metabolism to begin with.
"Right, what have you got?" Ezra asked, flopping down on one end of the couch. "I hope you know that if any of them have were-anythings in them, you're both banned from this house."
[ooc: NFB, and for the two.]

Because she hadn't wanted to be accidentally offensive to anybody Ezra knew, but figured dream-stalkers and hockey-faced serial killers were fair game. And aliens.
"And, you know, if we wanted to be really fancy, I grabbed some Hitchcock, but that seems a little highbrow for what we were going for." She pouted at them. "And skipped all the really good Asian horror movies because subtitles."

Because his Japanese skills were trash.
"Sounds like a reasonable enough selection," he added. "I approve. You may stay, for now."

She looked pretty stoked to try anyway.

...Look, Kathy's hobbies got increasingly domestic as the weather got colder.

Kathy shrugged. "Then don't eat it if you don't want to," she said, carefully trying to fit the stuff they'd brought onto the table of food as well. "And quiet you," she said, nudging Dante. "Broccoli is great."

For the most part. Look, they knew how contrary foxes could be, right?

neuroticnervous Kathy could be, especially when she wanted something to go really, really well."Hey, I'm just standing up for one of the best and most unfairly-maligned vegetables," she informed them, sneaking the last of the snacks onto the table, which practically groaned under the weight of food. "It's not my fault you both are heathens."
She flopped down onto the couch next to Dante. "Heathens who are gonna end up with, like, adult-onset rickets, just you wait."

Predictably.
"I have a feeling Nephilim might be, too."

And slid his arm around Kathy's shoulders. Maybe to try and help ground her, hush.

The other arm wound up near Ezra's shoulders, because he had no trouble at all about being in the middle here.

"You're both awful and I have no idea why I like you," Kathy announced, reaching for a candy bar. "I also appreciate that neither of you denied being wrong, just leaned real hard into the pretty."

Don't ask how he managed to bring up the remote with his foot, but he did.

Yes. They were the ones with the self-esteem issues.

"Can you thwap the back of her head for me, or something, darling?"
no subject
He did, however, reach up... and mussed her hair but good.
